Seventeen days before the election, Social Protest is coming back to Rothschild Avenue, Tel-Aviv. More than 1,500 have already confirmed arriving for the birthday party of Shay Cohen, a Social Protest veteran, celebrating in Rothschild Avenue his 40th birthday with no apartment. The organizers hope that it will be the starting point for the return of Social Protest to Rothschild Avenue and to the streets of Israel in general: "Four years have elapsed and conditions have only deteriorated, if we don't do something now, we will age with no roof over our heads".

Shay Cohen, Secretary of "Power to the Workers" labor organization and one of the key activists in the Social Protest movement, is celebrating next week his 40th birthday.
Ownership of an apartment is not even on the horizon. Shay's happy-sad birthday has become the starting point for return of the Occupy protest. The event, publicized on Facebook, has generated about 1,500 promised participants, who plan on coming and celebrating in tents.

"So all of a sudden I am 40. I have a great family, a lot of good things are happening in my life. Yet, on the 16th of the month I am called for military reserve duty, everything is too expensive, and buying an apartment where I live and work is a distant dream at best. We all still work too hard and earn too little.
We all truly need a revolution in our thinking and in social and economic policies. So the birthday present, which I am asking you for this year, is to bring a mat and a tent and come for at least one night, during which I promise that we drink and laugh together, but also yell and remind all, who we are and what we are demanding."
Cohen has been joined by key Social Protest activists throughout the country in a call to return to the streets, stating: "Whoever is interested in promoting a sane nation, which truly takes care of its citizens, is invited to act and lead".
The initiative has also been joined by the "Demotion 2015" group, including many of veteran activists of the Occupy Social Protest in Israel, who are committed to work against the re-election of Netanyahu, and who run a Facebook campaign against him, for his accountability for the cost of living and the widening social gaps.

"Nothing has changed since 2011, the cost of housing only sky-rocketed. It is hard to believe that Bibi is running for re-election without even presenting a housing agenda, or even stating in general that he plans to do to lower housing prices. If we do nothing now, we will age with no roof over our heads. Back to Rothschild, back to protest, please bring tents."

17 יום לפני הבחירות, המחאה החברתית חוזרת לשדרות רוטשילד. למעלה מאלף וחמש מאות איש כבר אישרו הגעתם לחגיגות יום ההולדת ה- 40 של שי כהן, מוותיקי פעילי המחאה החברתית, שחוגג יום הולדת 40 ללא דירה, בשדרות רוטשילד. המארגנים מקוים שזאת תהיה נקודת הפתיחה לחזרתה של המחאה החברתית לרוטשילד ולרחובות ישראל בכלל : "עברו 4 שנים והמצב רק החמיר, אם לא נעשה משהו עכשיו נזדקן בלי גג "

שי כהן, המזכיר הארגוני של ארגון "כוח לעובדים" ואחד מהפעילים המרכזיים במחאה החברתית, חוגג בשבוע הבא יום הולדת 40, בלי דירה בבעלותו באופק. יום ההולדת השמח – עצוב של שי הפך לנקודת הפתיחה מחדש של "מחאת האוהלים". לאירוע שפירסם שי בפייסבוק נרשמו עד עכשיו כאלף וחמש מאות איש, שמתכוונים להגיע לשדרות רוטשילד ולחגוג באוהלים.

"אז אני כאן ככה פתאום בן 40. יש לי משפחה מקסימה, המון טוב בחיים. ועדיין, ב16 לחודש אני מוזמן לשבועיים מילואים, הכל יקר מדי ולקנות דירה באזור בו אני חי ופועל עדיין נראה חלום רחוק. כולנו עדיין עובדים קשה מדי ומרוויחים פחות.
כולנו זקוקים באמת למהפך בדרך החשיבה והמדיניות הכלכלית והחברתית. אז מתנת יום ההולדת שאני מבקש מכם השנה היא לקחת מחצלת ואוהל ולבוא, לפחות לערב אחד בו אני מבטיח שגם נצחק ונשתה יחד, אבל גם נצעק ונזכיר מי אנחנו ומה אנחנו דורשים."
אל כהן הצטרפו פעילים בולטים מהמאה החברתית ברחבי הארץ בקריאה לחזור לרחובות. "כל מי שמעוניין לקדם מדינה שפוייה הדואגת לאזרחים שלה באמת- מוזמן להצטרף לפעילות ולהובלה" מסר
ליוזמה הצטרפה גם קבוצת "הדחה 2015", במסגרתה פעילים רבים מותיקי מחאת האוהלים, שנשבעו לפעול נגד בחירתו של נתניהו ומנהלים קמפיין פייסבוק נגד בחירתו של נתניהו בשל אחריותו ליוקר המחייה ולפערים החברתיים המתרחבים.
