2014-11-02 ISRAEL: PM Rabin assassination memorial - disappointing turnout and no mention of the takeover by the junta...
==============================
This morning, Israeli media are full of reports, noting the disappointing turnout for the annual memorial for PM Rabin's assassination 19 years ago. Estimates of the turnout are at 50.000 or less.
Reports note that the speakers sounded out of synch with reality, and some suggested that the public did not turn out, since they are desperate.

Here is a different perspective:

The organizers of the memorial tie Rabin's assassination only to undermining the peace process with the Palestinians.
Some go even further - they would not even mention the peace process (it is too political), and only tie the assassination to "unacceptable violence"... and the murder of a "beloved prime minister"...
They deliberately ignore the obvious:
Rabin's assassination was a key event in the takeover of the State of Israel by the junta.
The outcome was the establishment of predatory socio-economic policies. And the results are obvious: A handful of tycoons, masses of poor people, and unprecedented corruption of all three branches of government...
But the organizers are not willing to discuss such issues... It is impolite, so they become irrelevant!
